FTCI Assistant CEO attended Organic Producers-Marketers Meet at Institute of Agricultural Technologist (IAT) at Queens road, Bangalore, organized by Department of Agriculture, Government of Karantaka in association with IAT on 25th August 2011,. The main objective of the meet was to provide good market to certified organic produce of the state. Organic producers, organic certification agencies, organic marketers/retailers, organic hoteliers and NGO’s involved in promotion of organic farming in the state participated in this meet. The meeting was a good forum for interaction between organic producers and marketers. Information on the available organic produce, demand for organic produce in domestic and international market, participatory guarantee scheme and etc were presented. Also there was an exhibition displaying some organic produce sample.
Assistant CEO had an interaction with some of new organic marketers. Some of them really showed interest in our organic produce.
During the inaugural function, Mr Anand Agri Mission head, Director and Commissioner of Agriculture Department were in attendance. Agriculture minister also attended the Organic Producers-Marketer Meet.
