Tsewang Rigzin, a graduate student of Development Practice from Laney Graduate School at Emory University, is interning with Nyamdel (FTCI) during his summer research project.
Tsewang will be conducting a survey research titled “A Survey Research on Tibetan Entrepreneurs in India.” The extremely high rate of unemployment and continued migration of Tibetans from their respective settlements in India to various India cities and Western Countries, including the United State, Canada and other European countries, act as an impediment in building integrated and cohesive Exile Tibetan community and pose a great threat to the long-term sustainability of Tibetan refugee settlement in India. This survey seeks to understand the present state of Tibetan Entrepreneurs in India and attempt to bring a strong and fact based recommendations to those organizations and individual who seek to create a economically self-reliant Exile Tibetan communities in India, Nepal and Bhutan through facilitating enterprise developments in settlements.

Sonam Dhondup, 2nd year student of St Joseph College of Commerce, Bangalore will be doing internship at FTCI Head Office for a month during his summer vacation.
Sonam Dhondup belongs to Sonamling Tibetan settlement, Ladakh. He did his schooling from SOS TCV Ladakh and Bylakuppe school. His current academic interest includes finance, accountancy and marketing and he wants to pursue higher education in those areas of knowledge.
Sonam says, “I have a firm desire to make contribution towards regaining of our lost country Tibet and to serve Tibetan community. During my childhood my mission was to serve our community”.
Sonam believes that internship in FTCI Head Office will provide practical exposure on subjects like finance and accountancy besides an opportunity to serve Tibetan organization.
