FTCI opens new branch in Bylakuppe

Bylakuppe Oct 25: Former Religion and Cultural Minister of Central Tibetan Administration Ven. Tsering Phuntsok inaugurated FTCI Bylakuppe Branch this morning. Representatives of CTA, Tibetan Co-operatives, Monasteries, NGOs, Camp leaders and Media people attended the inauguration ceremony this morning at 9am. FTCI branch office will have FTCI Trading Co. and FTCI Beverages as its units. FTCI Trading Co. will procure agriculture produce from farmers and sell it to buyers and big factories when price rise. FTCI Beverages will manufacture and market package drinking water in half liter, one liter, two liter bottles and 20 liter jar.

Farmers in Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement cultivate around 8,000 tones of maize per year while farmers in Hunsur and Kollegal Tibetan Settlement produce around 2000 and 4000 tones respectively. Maize is one of the major crops cultivated in Tibetan Settlements in Karnataka and its surrounding areas owned by local Indian. Maize price remains lowest from Oct to Jan while the price is at its peak from April to Aug.

FTCI beverages will initially manufacture package drinking water and then expand its business into soda and fruit juices manufacturing lines.
