Bangalore 13th June: Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives in India Ltd (FTCI) commenced 7-day training program on Tally (accounting package), Goods & Service Tax (GST), Income Tax and Budget for Accountants of 15 Member Cooperative Societies and FTCI Units at FTCI Bangalore.
A total of 18 trainees are taking part in the training. All the participants are assigned to look after the account, finance and tax matter of their respective societies and units.
Mr Giri Babu P, Tally professional, B E Solutions Private Ltd, Bangalore Mr Basavaraj K S, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, E-Audit, Bangalore, Mr Channappa R. Nulvi, Chartered Accountant, Bangalore and Mr Thupten Tsering, CAO, FTCI are the resource persons for the training sessions. All the trainers are highly qualified, expert and experienced in their respective area of profession.
His colleagues Mr Mohammaed Mohiuddin and Ms Savitha are accompanying Mr Giri Babu P, a Tally trainer. Of the 7-day program, 6 days will be spent on tally.
An inaugural function for the training was held before the start of training sessions. Former parliamentarian Mrs B. Tsering la, Principal of The Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Studies, Bangalore graced the function as a Chief Guest. Also present during the function were FTCI Chairman, FTCI CEO, Accountants of member societies and FTCI Units, and FTCI head office staff.
Following lighting of butter lamp at HH the Dalai Lama portrait, traditional Tibetan tea and sweet rice was served.
While welcoming the participants, FTCI CEO, said, “Tibetan cooperative societies especially the smaller societies are facing several challenges in account, tally and income tax. Because of these hardships, the overall administration of the society is affected.”
He further noted that irrespective of whether societies maintain accounting and financial statement on time or not, if the accountant lacks required knowledge, experience and information on periodical tax obligation, then it could have a significant impact, which could eventually plunge the societies with heavy penalties. He also recounted problems that many of the societies commonly face : frequent change in accountant, new accountant lacking experience, delay in closure of account statement and CTA audit reports.
He concluded his talk by emphasising on importance of the maximum participation from the trainees in the training session.
In his address, FTCI Chairman, stressed on importance of updating skill and knowledge through training program. He also said that such training program wouldn’t be organised again and again. He asked the participants to take active part in training program by paying attention and asking queries. He also thanked DOH, CTA for giving fund to organize the training program.
The Chief Guest underlined the significance of cooperative for the livelihood of people in general and farmers in particular. She reminded about the difficulties, which many Tibetan societies went through in mid 80s.
In her address, KuNgoe B Tsering also highlighted on importance of honesty in accounting work, timely maintenance of day-to-day accounting work and importance of good memory power of accountant for their work.
Before the end of inaugural program, FTCI Chief Accountant conveyed vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, other dignitaries, DoH Dharamsala, TYH Bengaluru, and participants. Inaugural program concluded with a group photo session of all participants with Chief Guest.
The 7-day training program is funded by DoH, CTA, Dharamsala and FTCI and organized by FTCI Head Office Bengaluru.
