FTCI along with Ani Tenzin Lhamo and friends from USA initiated “wear an armband” campaign in solidarity of Tibetans self-immolation in a recent past in Tibet during Kalachakra Initiation by HH the Dalai Lama at Bodhgaya in January 2012. More than 1,40,000 white armbands were distributed on Wednesday Jan 4 with wordings like “In Solidarity”, “We are with you”, “Save our Sangha”.
Several Tibetans in Tibet have self immolated themselves and have been calling for freedom in Tibet and the return of HH the Dalai Lama to Tibet. This campaign program by FTCI is an expression of support to those who self immolate and to show solidarity.
