TIBETAN PRIMARY AGRICULTURAL CREDIT CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD (LUGSUNG SAMDUPLING, BYLAKUPPE)
Tibetan Co-operative Society Ltd., (now known by Tibetan Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Society Ltd.), Gollara Hosahalli was established in 1964 and registered under the Karnataka Co-Operative Societies Act with Registration No. ARM/1492-
1964.
Units/Services Provided: – TPACCS Ltd provides various kinds of services to its
members as well as local residents through its different sections.
(1) Agriculture Section: – Agriculture forms the primary occupation of the people of the settlement. TPACCS Ltd provides crop loans and supplies agricultural inputs like maize seeds, fertilizers, tractors for ploughing, transporting men and materials, to the farmers on credit basis. The Agriculture Section then collects the harvested products from the farmers in return of the loans provided to them. The agricultural produce thus procured is stocked in storage Godowns owned by TPACCS Ltd. and sold when the price is attractive. Interest subsidies provided by Govt. of Karnataka on agricultural loan given to the farmer members are facilitated through the society.
(2) Incense Manufacturing Section: – Age old traditional method and raw materials are used to produce the finest incense aroma. The best of herbs and other superior quality ingredients comprise the incense manufactured under the brand names of Lug-Sam, Gang-Chen, Dung-Kar, Tho-Gang, Buddha, Guru and Red Incense in adherence to Buddhist scriptures, no chemicals are added in any of the above products.
(3) Tiny Shop: – One Tiny Shop cater to tourists and locals by selling Tibetan Buddhist ritual objects and other articles.
(4) Tractor Section: – Since the settlement is based on agriculture, it is vital to prepare the lands for cultivation at the onset of monsoon. Tractors maintained by the Workshop cum Tractor Section engage in ploughing the fields & transportation of Agricultural products.
(5) IOC Fuel Section: – An Indian Oil dealer, the Fuel Station sells diesels, petrol and other lubricants. It was setup in 1975 & upgraded in 2005 into a beautiful outlet with a unique Tibetan outlook. Traditional Tibetan Buddhist designs adorn the face of the building. The station offers well maintained toilet facilities and free air service. Its landscaped garden is a treat to the eye.
(6) Shopping Complex: – The Shopping complex comprising of 94 shops were. built by society with the sole aim to uplift the economic status of its members. The Shops are leased out to shareholders at nominal rates. The complex is an important place to shop and dine.
(7) Guest House: – TPACCS has a Guest House with thirteen double bedrooms, which are maintained to accommodate visiting dignitaries.
(8) Community Hall: – General Body meetings, prayer assemblies and various other gatherings are held in the Community Hall. The hall is also hired to host religious teachings, workshops, educational and health talks.
(9) Trisong Library:- Collection of vast number of books for adults and especially for kids to develop habit of reading and knowledge enhancement.
(10) Farm Land: – TPACCS maintains a farm area of seven acres. Coconut Palms and Mango Trees are grown and the produce are sold locally.
