A Brief information on 15 members of Tibetan Co-operatives in India
The cooperative societies of Tibetan settlements are nothing less than a back bone to Tibetan government in exile, for they carry forward the responsibilities to benefit its share members and bring various improvements in their respective settlement.
While our government makes strategies and policies to improve the basic standards of living, education, health etc, the cooperative societies focus on people’s income, employment and convenience.
From the smallest things of supplying the seeds and fertilizers to the farmers, arranging tractors to plough the farm to the bigger thing of dealing the prices of farmer’s products, cooperatives manage every little thing of the settlers.
Apart from this, they have built crèches in every settlement so that the parents can work independently without worrying about their babies. Co-operatives also help in preserving the Tibetan culture and identity by maintaining our traditional handicrafts and promoting them to other nationalities.
Co-operative societies deal directly with common people and help them sort their problems; hence they have surely been a blessing to the Tibetans and will remain to be so.
